Prince meets Aussie Rock with a healthy dose of comedy!
What do surfing, gender transition and healthy doses of crowd participation have in common? They are all part of the Cassy Judy Experience, delivered with comedic flair and magnetic stage presence by an all-girl band!
What the critics say:
“Amazing” Big Sky Mountain
“Wonderful vibe of fun.” Kerri Ellis
“A must-see performance that will bring you so much joy!” Victoria Anthony
Cassy’s songs derive from poignant observations from her life as a transgender woman, criminal lawyer and ocean adventurer! Recently claiming the mantle as Newtown’s Premier Bikini Musician, Cassy is an experienced entertainer and MC. She appears regularly at events such as Trans Glamore, Chicks with Picks and her own events at Parliament on King. She has performed over 500 times at over 40 different venues from a recent crowd-pleasing appearance at the Broken Heel festival to events for local community groups.
In 2019, she played at Trans Day of Remembrance, performing her “divine” song “We remember them” honouring the lives of those trans people lost to violence.
In late 2019 Cassy formed the Cassy Judy Experience, an all-girl band designed to bring Cassy’s story to a wider audience! Thus far her band have opened at Mad Pride, played Chicks with Picks Fair Day After Party and were slated to play at the unfortunately cancelled Rainbow Wave Festival.
A proud Transgender Woman, Cassy works closely with her community to promote transgender awareness!
When she’s not strutting the stage, Cassy continues to work for legally aided clients in criminal courts around Sydney and complete lengthy and adventurous ocean swims.
Joining Cassy will be electro toy-manipulator Scruffamudda & Hephalump!
A name inspired by the elephant-like creature ‘Heffalump’, which appears in Pooh and Piglets’ wildest dreams in the story of Winnie the Pooh and a common mispronunciation of the word “elephant” by children, echoes with the band’s vision- to bring the audience into an imaginative dimension and to create music without limit. In their early 20s, the young five-piece consists of Mitch McLaine (lead vocal/ guitar), Erin Tillet (Keyboards, Mandolin, vocals), Tomas Myles (Bass), Patrick Ellem (guitar), and Nick Cranch (drums). Since their formation in June 2018, they have been creating music restlessly and they could not wait to show the world what they are all about.
A night of incredible entertainment!
