PAUL KIDNEY EXPERIENCE // Q // 1978 // MORODERHEAD
In Japan Paul Kidney is called “Iggy Pop channeling Yoko Ono”. After a 12-date Japanese tour in 2019, PKE hooked up with legendary, Japanese psychedelic freakers Acid Mothers Temple to put out a split LP in 2020. This record has all but sold out. Now PKE release their own full length LP, via Kasumuen Records and the band are finally free to tour it!
Paul Kidney Experience are a wholly improvised psych/noise-rock band who veer far into a psychedelic trip each time they perform, led by Mr Kidney, ex-Kiss My Poodle’s Donkey/Monroe's Fur.
This psychedelic overlord is backed by a band resembling a pre-debut LP Stooges, ie: before the songs! A pick of the crop from Australian underground noise-rock players:
- Matt Gleeson (The Stabs)
- Don Drum (Fraudband/New Rock Syndicate)
- Ben Butcher (Baseball)
- Dave Bullock (Munroe’s Fur, which also featured future Mudhoney bass player, Guy Maddison)
- Declan Burgess (Cars That Ate Paris)
- and introducing Huich Goh
Paul Kidney Experience is a psychedelic experience as pure as the driven LSD clouds.
