Mattie Slur is launching his much anticipated new album DELICIOUS FICTITIOUS. On the night, to help celebrate this rather enormous accomplishment, he will be joined by ultra talented Hiske Weijers as well as the amazing Fleur Wiber.
Don’t miss this awesome night of local live music!
Mattie Slur is a Sydney based Singer-Songwriter-Producer. Formerly the frontman of inner west Sydney 90s bands Purple Slur and Slur, and has been sporadically playing both solo and with a couple of bands live over the last decade but in 2017, thought he was finished with music . But music is a live that would strike him once again in early 2019, and it hit him harder than ever. Mattie has rediscovered what it was he loved about music in the beginning and set out last December to write and record the elusive album he had never gotten to make back in the day.
The result is “Delicious Fictitious”. Eight of the 10 tracks were written as he was recording the album in a burst of creativity he’d never experienced before. The 10 songs on Delicious Fictitious are by far Mattie’s finest work. The 2 tracks that were already written prior are one from 1999 “Nowhere I’d Rather Be” and one from 1993 , a song he wrote back then that was a staple in both Purple Slur and Slur’s sets throughout the 90s, “Luscious” which has stood the test of time and he reworked for this album in a nod to his younger years and the amazing people who supported his early career.
“Alone”, “Deep Black Haze”, “Things Are Not Alright” and “Lighthouse” are the singles off the album and all 10 tracks are very strong songs that are a mix of electronic/experimental/rock/pop and folk.
“Delicious Fictitious” is released in August 27 and he will be launching the album on Moshpit TV on Sunday 6th September with his amazing friends BleedingIntoRadio and Fleur Wiber.
The creative burst Mattie has experienced hasn’t left yet. Already work has begun an the next album. Plan is that we will see that finished and released by this time next year.
