Shout! JERRAH PATSON
If you’re loving the stream, chuck us all a shout! All shouts are equally split between the band, the venue and ZENN.
Simone East is a Sydney artist whose songs of heartache and thwarted dreams are paeans to those with little left to lose.
Simone is currently putting the finishing touches on her debut album Stealing Time recorded with Lyttelton producer Ben Edwards (Aldous Harding, Julia Jacklin, Marlon Williams), and is excited to share her blend of shimmering Country–Soul and 70’s cosmic groove.
She has supported notable Australian Americana acts such as The Roadhouses, Loene Carmen and The Lost Ragas as well as Northern California’s The Easy Leaves and Nashville–based Emma Swift.
Jerrah Patston is a young musician from the Blue Mountains who recently released his solo debut, The Jerrah EP. The EP marks Jerrah’s first recordings made in his favourite environment; in front of a live audience.
The songs cover a range of his passions such as sport (‘Brian Lara’, ‘Like Stumps’), the Penrith weir (‘It’s Like A Waterfall, But It’s Not A Waterfall’), and the everyday (‘Braces’, ‘The Corned Beef Song’).
“After half an hour, it’s clear you’re witnessing someone who taps into the essence of pop songwriting, someone with a peerless ability to communicate the sheer joy of the everyday, and someone with a sense of melody that Paul McCartney could admire. He is Jonathan Richman with an Australian accent, without the love songs but with cricket and Opal cards instead of baseball and bubble-gum” – Nick Shimmin.
